I've been watching the Occupy Wall Street movement since it started in New York on September 17th. In the early days, coverage outside of Occupy Wall Street's own website was virtually non-existent, dismissed by the media. The major networks were no where to be found, and even local coverage was sparse. It wasn't until a video of a police supervisor pepper spraying peaceful protestors went viral did the media finally wake up. Read more here......

As most of us know, the Buffet plan is a simply plan that calls for millionaires to pay the same percentage in actual income as those in the middle class. It is inspired by billionaire Warren Buffet who actually believes he should pay more. However, considering that the avid Fox viewer has the political acumen and knowledge of a rabies infected dog, here is how I think they should play it. I will borrow from...

The former governor of Alaska made an appearance on Fox News' Justice With Judge Jeanine Saturday night in a wide-ranging interview that covered topics from Israel to pizza to cell phone ringtones. She criticized (natch) President Obama---who she referred to as "our temporary leader"-- for his foreign policy "that really makes no sense." She said of the recently announced candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, Herman Cain:"I like Herman Cain, even hearing his name. I...
From Think Progress:"During a segment on Hannity earlier this week, GOP strategist Frank Luntz interviewed a panel of Republican voters in Iowa, and half said they believe Obama is a Muslim."<br />"Very intense, very passionate." Also very stupid....
Sarah Palin entered the friendly confines of the Fox News studios last night (actually from a studio Fox built for her in Alaska) for a hard-hitting "intervew" with Sean Hannity. (Video here). As the TV critic for the Baltimore Sun put it:"Hannity doesn't really do interviews with her. He plays defense attorney asking about "criticisms" made of her, and then setting her up with graphics and loaded questions so she can attempt to refute the...
As the new Republican majority in the House gets set to waste time this week with a repeal of health care reform that has zero chance of either passing the Senate or being able to withstand a presidential veto, the Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol appeared on Fox News Sunday yesterday to detail what the "replace" part of the alleged "repeal and replace" of health care reform might look like. As you would expect from the...
In the immediate aftermath of the shootings in Tucson this past Saturday, before any evidence had been uncovered as to what made Jared Loughner do what he did, and when it was still unclear as to whether or not incendiary political rhetoric played any part, Republicans rushed to microphones everywhere to try and distance themselves from any culpability with the "both sides do it" defense. A few opinions of others on this false equivalent and...
From Media Matters: At the height of the health care reform debate last fall, Bill Sammon, Fox News' controversial Washington managing editor, sent a memo directing his network's journalists not to use the phrase "public option." Instead, Sammon wrote, Fox's reporters should use "government option" and similar phrases -- wording that a top Republican pollster had recommended in order to turn public opinion against the Democrats' reform efforts. Journalists on the network's flagship news program,...
I have taught a lot of workshops over the years, and one of the components that I cover when I deliver a workshop on change management is something called the "Emotional Contagion Theory."In the March 2005 issue of The Journal of Applied Psychology, Richard Saavedra and Thomas Sy at California State University at Long Beach examined the effects of a leader's mood on a group. They took 189 volunteer undergraduates, divided them into 63 groups of...
