The Beckapaloozers

Idiocracy is here:

Tbogg nailed it:

"If the terrorists are smart, they will give up on trying to attack us and just sit back and wait, because eventually our entire country is going to be so stupid that people will start sticking their tongues in wall sockets just to see what electricity tastes like."

I find it humorous to read CONservative posts telling people to "chill out." Wasn't it you guys calling everyone traitors, and telling people to leave the country if they didn't like G.W. Bush?

You guys really need to get a grip. Tell you what... don't like it? Then move.

You guys have made your divisive bed, now lay in it.

This is Scott the blogger. Let me address your points one by one:

1) Angry and hate-filled

I can only speak for myself, but I am angry less. I am angry that I cannot have a civilized conversation anymore with people from the other side. Do I hate? I can honestly say I hate very few people in this world and the ones I do are not for political reasons.

2) Echochamber

I can't speak for Bob, but the page says we are open to new bloggers and have no litmus test on ideology. We also welcome all people to comment as long as they are respectful.

3) All Republicans are retarded

Hmmmm, never seen that statement made. We do point out people that act as if they are diminished capacity.

4) I agree exactly with what you said about both sides saying that the other wants what is best for America. If you've read my stuff you know I've said that many times. I continue to say it in spite of the fact that many people from the Beck crowd call the president a racist, a Muslim, and a Kenyan. If you really want to work together you have to shout down the extremists.

5) Are we going to kicked out at the midterms? Anything is possible I suppose, but I don't see the Senate going Republican and the Democratic advantage may actually expand in the Senate. Either way, we aren't going to the sidelines because we have the White House for at least two more years. Seems to me that in your scenario there will be more need to work together. No one is going to the sidelines unless they choose to.

6) Homophobic, Xenophobic, Racists.......

Again, get your ship in order. I don't believe conservatism is innately racist, homophobic, or xenophobic, but you have to admit that there are a lot of loud voices that represent those beliefs. You (and other reasonable conservatives) have to shout them down. It's hurting your cause. We have our own nuts on the left and we have to shout them down too.

You know, if this were really an echo chamber, your comment would not even be shown here. (Kind of like dear old Texas Sparkle at the chron.)

Many of us USED to consider ourselves Republican, until the freaks drove the party off the tracks and the reasonable people decided to sit back and let the freaks continue to take the wheel.

We might be screaming "xenophobe/islamophobe..." but guess what...WE are not the ones acting on those feelings. We are simply pointing to the people who are. So sorry that it's your side.

Grow up and come into the 21st century. Or not.

Your choice.

Not only that Cobbo, but they have done worse than simply say no. They have negotiated in poor faith. They have demanded certain changes to water down legislation in exchange for some of their support. Then, when it was their turn to show support they all voted no. Doesn't sound like good faith to me. Lucy can only pull up that football long enough before you begin to catch on.

Dialog takes two. If the Republicans were interested in dialog don't you think they would have participated in the decision-making regarding the health care proposals, immigration reform and financial reform? Instead they chose to refuse all efforts to engage them in the debate unless the Democrats were willing to capitulate and accept the Republican positions as a precondition. That's not dialog. That's an ultimatum. When Democrats refused, the Pubs chose to just say no. They took their bills and went home, content to attempt to deny the administration even the smallest of victories. It's kind of hard to argue and negotiate with a fence post.

Scott - Did you listen to the morons on this video? People denying that he said this?

"He is a racist. This president, I think, has exposed himself as a guy, over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture. I don't know what it is. I'm not saying he doesn't like white people. I'm saying he has a problem. He has a -- this guy is, I believe, a racist." - Glenn Beck, July 28, 2009

"We've been setting up re-education camps. They're called universities." - Glenn Beck, September 1, 2010

Beck spews this crap 7 days a week (all while selling gold at more than double market price) to scare gullible people into believing his apocalyptic rhetoric.

You've got it backwards. It's easy to see from which direction the hate is coming. The "conservatives" have no interest in debate of the issues as long as this clown speaks for them.

You guys sure are angry and hateful. I know this is an echo chamber and you all feel comfortable enough to let your hair down, but damn! You all need to lighten up. You don't like conservatives but that doesn't make them evil or retarded, just different from you. IF there is going to be any dialogue between liberals and conservatives both sides will need to admit that the other truly believes they are doing what is best for the nation. You don't have a monopoly on what is right for America and neither does Beck and his followers. And reaching some kind of consensus is going to be necessary after the Dems get their asses handed to them in the mid-terms. Or you can sit back and scream racist/homophobe/islamaphobe/xenophobe and watch your party relegated to the sidelines. Your choice.

Glenn Beck Reinforcing Ignorance Rally

What most of these ignorant racists don't realize is that RepubliCONs have been in control for 40 years.

The morons are a blight on humanity.

That'll be greeeeeaaaaaaaat.

Yeah, I'm going to need you come on Saturday. Yeah and then Sunday too. We had to let some people go and we need to play catch up. Yeah.

Scott, Scott, Scott. NOTHING beats Office Space. (OK, Des....except for Blazing Saddles!)

So make sure you leave my red stapler alone, ok? And didn't you get the memo about the TPS reports?

Which story do you want to hear more about?

The kid who used to hang out in my living room?

hey, that's cool. I always archive stories like that...Can we hear more?

Scott,

The left ear is the right ear...the right ear is the wrong ear...Unless you have a set!

I knew it, I just knew it I tell you...it's an international conspiracy to bring the world to its collective knees!

Scott,

I'm of the mind that one cannot be taught the difference between truth and madness... :O)

You either got it or you don't. I was looking up at the sky one day (I can't remember if I was looking at a plane or planet) but I remarked to my 4year old that the object was something that she obviously knew it wasn't. She guffawed as if to say "Daddy, you're an idiot" and flatly stated, "Daddy, that is not a ..." She caught me cold. Like I said, either you got it or you don't.

Loved the movie. Not Office Space good but damn good.

Or else the entire premise of "Idiocracy" will come true.

The more educated people will have fewer children, or no children at all. The trailer trash-type (okay harsh but it gets the point across) will be breeding like rabbits.

Scary thought.....

And for those who have not seen the movie "Idiocracy", you really should. It's a rather dark comedy, but still freaky. (Plus I discovered that one of the actors used to hang out at my house when he was a kid!)

Um, Scott....if you're asking....my advice is: lose the mullet!

ROFL!!!

Regrettably, I know some well-educated, otherwise sane individuals who fall prey to the Limbaughs and Becks and think Sarah Palin should receive an honorary doctorate in political science from Princeton or Brown.

No doubt education is a part of the problem. But we just have a lot of stupid white people in this country. In all honesty, immigration MAY be the solution to this. As more and more immigrants come here and inter-marry with the local indiginous population (stupid white people) we may be able to dilute that "stupid" gene in a couple of thousand years.

You know these media types have these tapes saved. They probably go to the bar themselves and replay them for a chuckle. The problem is that these people are assuming that the general public gets the joke. My uncle is the same way. He has a masters degree and was a six figure a year executive. Yet, a lot of the stuff was so deranged (and still is).

In education we have the term content literacy. Yes, you can be a good reader and not understand a lick of one particular subject. Brilliance in science, math, literature does not necessarily translate to brilliance in current events, culture, or politics. Without my students I would be woefully behind socially. Heck, I'm still wondering which ear you wear the ear ring in to denote that your gay. Are mullets good fashion sense? See, all of us have blind spots.

Do you know what we're doing wrong? We are treating these fools like rational, thinking people!

Just watch.....the interviewer nods his head as these morons talk. Thereby giving them the impression that they are being intelligent and he agrees.

What we need to be doing is laughing AT THEM. Laughing at them so they know what dumbasses they are.

I'm sorry, I have lost all respect. They need to be mocked, ridiculed, pointed out to everyone as the dumbfarts they are.

I'm fed up with their damn stupidity.

It's Friday, I'm ready for 5 p.m. and I'm not going to allow these goons to control the media message. ;-)

Scott, I know a gentleman who is well-educated and who insists to me - downright determined that he is right - that Fox News is truly "fair and balanced" and that he watches Fox because it tells the truth about what us sorry 'lib'ruls" are up to, in our evil ways.

I am always dumbfounded by this. This is not a stupid man. But he swears that Dick Cheney was the country's "best VP ever", that Ronald Reagan was "the best president" ever, and that GWB was right in invading Iraq.

I want to know where the GOP and Fox installs the chip in these peoples' heads to get them to believe this shit.

Is this some type of new Matrix movie and I wasn't informed?

If they get back into power, how do we apply for political asylum in Canada? If they get back into power, the inmates will truly be running the freaking asylum. Scary.

I'm feeling the same way. This is so damned discouraging to see this fools talk. And to think that they believe what they're saying.....it's just depressing.

If Beck/Palin come into power next year (I understand they are having some type of hifalutin' meeting in Alaska on 9/11), these drooling followers of theirs deserve every bit of misery they get.

Idiots.

But, gotta admit, Mike Judge is a freakin' genius......sadly.

You hit the nail on the head. I tried to teach my Government and Economics classes as a basic in being a consumer of political and economic information. I taught them how to balance a checkbook, what credit cards would do them, and in investing. I taught them what each branch could and could not do so they knew when politicians were full of shit. It is becoming more and more necessary to teach people how to discern whether a source of information is good or not. You think about it. Most people in that demographic were taught to believe anything in the news because the news wouldn't lie to them. I don't necessarily blame them, but we must teach our children how to tell the difference between someone feeding them BS and someone that is actually giving them solid information.

"How many Mosques do they have in New York City ? A bunch, why do they need another ?"

Gee, I don't know. Maybe the same reason you can't turn around in Houston without seeing a church. But they keep building them bigger and bigger. Why do they need another ?

I'm getting close to just giving up. These motherfuckers deserve the reaming, sans lubricant, that they're going to get when corporate America takes the place of the government.

As for me, If they do get into power, I'm heading north of the border.

"Inarticulate Speech of the Teatard." Gawd, that's hilarious! Not very politically correct, though.

those people are hopelessly f*cked up! But, I confess that I must have a little of them in me because I love Wal-Mart.

I have to say that by the 3rd generations 97% of Hispanics CANNOT speak Spanish!

"I can't believe this country would elect a president who......."

is black.

They don't say it but you know that is what they really think. (I laughed at the idiot lady who said she firmly believes the president is not a legal citizen and is a Muslim.....but it's getting harder and harder to laugh at these idiots.)

I see a bunch of undereducated, OVERFED, dumb-as-rocks white people, most of whom can't put together coherent sentences. Wal-Mart regulars, I'd bet.

"I heard it on the news the other day that now we are not permitted to pray at the Lincoln Monument...."

WTF???

These people are pathetic. Just plain pathetic. They have bought into every stupid lie put out by the whackjobs like Beck and Limbaugh. I am ashamed to have people in other countries led to believe that morons like this are indicative of the American people. And if this is the result of America's public education system, then we are failing badly at educating people, or teaching them to THINK FOR THEMSELVES (although you know they probably think they really ARE thinking for themselves).

Concerning their objections to the mosque-that-isn't-a-mosque in New York City: "It's the same name as the one in Spain....".

Damn. I thought I was depressed about America before. Now I'm ready to pack up and head to Canada where they seem to have a few people with brains left in their heads. These people all have their brains in their asses.
