Scanning the news while waiting for Elmer Gantry Jim Jones Glenn Beck to take the stage in D.C.
Boehner's right, we have to stop bailing out these special interest groups. Just be sure to plan that house fire for a day when the fire department is open for business:
We don't need no stinkin' Fourth Amendment, just keep us safe:
Good thing we don't have any of them librul activist judges on the Supreme Court.

But there is some good news:
Boehner's right, we have to stop bailing out these special interest groups. Just be sure to plan that house fire for a day when the fire department is open for business:
"Fire departments around the nation are cutting jobs, closing firehouses and increasingly resorting to "rolling brownouts" in which they shut different fire companies on different days as the economic downturn forces many cities and towns to make deep cuts that are slowing their responses to fires and other emergencies."
We don't need no stinkin' Fourth Amendment, just keep us safe:
"American Science & Engineering, a company based in Billerica, Massachusetts, has sold U.S. and foreign government agencies more than 500 backscatter x-ray scanners mounted in vans that can be driven past neighboring vehicles to see their contents..."
Good thing we don't have any of them librul activist judges on the Supreme Court.
"In the wake of the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling earlier this year, corporations and special interest groups now enjoy the ability to spend unlimited amounts of money on elections. Now, with less than 10 weeks until November, it's clear just how far conservative groups are willing to go to try to influence the midterm elections.
According to a new report from ThinkProgress, conservative organizations have committed (or already spent) $400 million to advance their conservative agenda at the ballot box this year. For comparison's sake, this outside money alone is more than the Democratic campaign committees spent combined when they took back both houses of Congress in the last midterm election. Indeed, the Wall Street Journal notes that special interest groups have already spent three times as much in 2010 than they had in 2006."
Brother can you spare a spine?:
"With the economy rapidly weakening, some senior Democrats are having second thoughts about raising taxes on the nation's wealthiest families and are pressing party leaders to consider extending the full array of Bush administration tax cuts, at least through next year."
Here a war, there a war, everywhere a war war:
"The sober new assessment of al-Qaeda's affiliate in Yemen has helped prompt senior Obama administration officials to call for an escalation of U.S. operations there -- including a proposal to add armed CIA drones to a clandestine campaign of U.S. military strikes, the officials said."
Speaking of perpetual war:
"BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- Anyone who thinks the United States is really going to withdraw from Afghanistan in July 2011 needs to come to this giant air base an hour away from Kabul. There's construction everywhere. It's exactly what you wouldn't expect from a transient presence."
But there is some good news:
"An Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin," an event featuring the former Alaska Governor, was supposed to be a minor blockbuster in Jacksonville, Florida, next week, but not everything has gone as planned.
Slow ticket sales have forced event organizers to move the function from the 2,936-seat Moran Theatre to the significantly smaller 609-seat Terry Theatre."

He might be...we'll have to keep an eye on him. What on Earth is that guy up to?
Beck is the real Anti-Christ. Mormon, but still the Anti-Christ.
yeah, goofball. One really has to wonder what is making these people tick...tick...tick.
I was reading up on Beck's history and it occurred to me that if nothing else he comes by his beliefs honestly. He's led somewhat of a tragic life and if the inner truth of Beck were known we would probably see a tortured human being. Unlike Limbo, Beck simply doesn't have the intellectual/wisdom depth to understand the 'true' meaning of spirituality. He may really be trying to do his best. He's jacked up, though. And, if I'm way off the mark then he's a reptilian, though, I would be inclined to believe he is just a rank-and-file stooge. Poor sap!
I was watching - briefly - a clip from yesterday's Beck's version of the Sermon on the Mount (forgive me, Lord!)......and of course we know what I saw.
A large group of white people.
With the exception of MLK's niece who said SHE had his DNA and his widow, the late Coretta Scott King, didn't.
I guess there's always one goofball in every family......
Thank you!
I had a very good teacher. ;-)
Shouldn't that be An Evening of Hype or an Evening of Hoax?
My favorite show, Need to Know on PBS, had a commentary comparing the controversy over the Islamic Center in New York to Glenn Beck's ill=timed rally. The point was that if you support the building of the center then by rights you should support Beck's right to be a bigoted idiot (my words) on the National Mall.
If you think the center should not be built, then you should oppose Beck's religious themed rally and attempt to bind government to Christianity on the same grounds.
"An Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin"? Cool, count me in...I always did consider Bob Hope a very underrated performer, and a medley of tunes from Ol' Ski Nose sounds like great entertainment...
What? Oh...never mind...
Shortstuff, you always say what I'd like to say. Thank you!
For the longest time I thought Beck was a liberal in deep cover at Fox. He either has been shapeshifted or has lost his mind. They might actually be equivalent conditions.
It seems the Repubtilians feel their matrix is at risk to spend such copious dollars. That's a good sign. The white hats need to keep battlin'.
After watching the Glenn Bleeech clip from The Daily Show, I think Glenn believes he is the second coming of Christ.
And am I the only person who thinks he's just pasty-white creepy looking? He's just nauseatingly difficult to watch.
As for Palin.....someone please please make her go away. Far far away.
