Fox News' Coverage of News Corp.'s Donation to the RGA

A compilation of reports on Fox News about its parent company, News Corp, giving a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association:

 That's right, not a word:

"A review of TV Eyes and Nexis transcripts shows that Fox News and Fox Business Network programs have not reported on News Corp.'s $1 million contribution to the RGA. Similarly, a review of FoxNews.com shows no mention of the contribution."

Not only that:

"A top official with the Democratic Governors Association said on Tuesday that Fox News has declined repeated efforts to put him on air to discuss the decision of the network's parent company to donate $1 million to the Republican Governors Association.

In a brief interview with the Huffington Post, Nathan Daschle, the executive director of the DGA, said that he has tried on numerous occasions to go on Fox News to discuss the donation made by News Corp. None of his entreaties have been answered as of 3:30 p.m on Tuesday.

"We haven't gotten a single phone call or email returned. We want to engage in a discussion with them about this," Daschle said. "But they didn't even respond."

Fair and balanced? We report, you decide.

Works for me!

Succinct!

I still have friends and neighbors who swear by Fox News. I just shake my head in bemusement.

Aw shucks, you're gonna make me blush.

That's why you are the genius that you are.

Fight fire with fire, force them post at the bottom,"prolonged exposure to Fox News has been known to cause cancer, vertigo, full body hair loss, and seeing of the dead. If any of these symptoms persist, stop watching immediately and turn it to MSNBC."

That's too wordy and complicated for Fox viewers. How about this, a blinking graphic across the bottom of the screen that says "BULLSHIT."

I just think anybody who broadcasts news with their own "interpretation" should have to post a disclaimer at the botom of the screen. Insurance companies post things like "Actor Portrayal" or "Paid Endorser". Fox should have to post something like "This news broadcast reflects the opinions of Fox News. Facts quoted may be inaccurate and subjective and some reports may be based on innuendo, rumor and half-truths. Any resemblance to real, objective journalism is coincidental."

Don't forget Edward R. Murrow.
Fox News is the media wing for the hateful. They are just batshit crazy. I watched it occasionally a few years agao until I started doing my own research on what they were saying. Especially when I started checking up on Glenn Beck's bullshit.
That did it. My remote control just skips right past Channel 38 these days.....

they should not be allowed back into the W.H. press-room until the DNC is allowed to have a correspondent in the next chair - since News Corp. also owns the Wall Street Journal, the AFL-CIO will have to be there if the Journal is, and if the New York Post (also a News Corp. property) is in the room, the SEIU will have to be there also, in order to provide everyone fair access.

Unfortunately, Fox has the right to slant or lie in its news stories, at least in Florida. Here's a story about a lawsuit Fox was in several years ago. Don't have anything in your mouth when you read it.

It's disgusting, just like Fox and Murdoch.

Wow. I can't even think of anything to say to that. It's like watching your college buddy complete a disgusting stunt without flinching. You're not sure whether to throw up or burst into applaus at the gall and shamelessness.

I'll bet Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite are rolling over in their graves. THis sure AIN't journalism.

I don't want to get off on a rant her but, when a TV or radio station obviously and unabatedly airs politially slanted news, opinions, totally unconfirmed and eventually proved "false" reports, and is blatantly in existence totally to forward THEIR political agenda or that of ONE politial party or persuasion, isn't that a violation of their FCC charter????

Anybody out there know about this????

I'm not saying they can't do it. I;m just saying they should have to drop the name "Fox News" and call it what it is, "Fox Political Propaganda Op Ed".

I'm serious about this.
BTW,lying by omission is still lying.
