Attention teachers, police officers, and firefighters: Remember this when you go to the polls in November. John Boehner, the man who would be Speaker if Republicans take control of the House, considers you to be "liberal special interests" and funds to save your jobs a "special interest bailout." He also seems to think that his time would be much better spent on the golf course than in Washington voting on a bill to save your jobs.
Here's what Rep. Boehner had to say about Speaker Pelosi's decision to interrupt the August recess and hold a special session to pass $26 billion in aid for state governments that the Senate approved yesterday
Here's where Boehner listens to his constituents and who his constituents are:

I've got a hunch the "special interests" he plays golf with aren't teachers, police officers, and firefighters.

"The American people don't want more Washington 'stimulus' spending - especially in the form of a pay-off to union bosses and liberal special interests. This stunning display of tone-deafness comes at the expense of American workers, who will be hit by another job-killing tax hike because Washington Democrats can't kick their addiction to more government 'stimulus' spending. Democrats should be listening to their constituents - who are asking 'where are the jobs?' - instead of scampering back to Washington to push through more special interest bailouts and job-killing tax hikes."

"In October, 2005 [Golf Digest Magazine] reported that "Despite all of the problems facing Ohio families...Congressman Boehner finds time to play about 100 rounds of golf a year-- most with special interest lobbyists. He says he pays special attention to the lobbyists he meets on the golf course, bragging "...if someone I've gotten to know on the golf course comes into my office with a good argument, I tend to want to listen."
I've got a hunch the "special interests" he plays golf with aren't teachers, police officers, and firefighters.

Not sure what you're saying here; it's sometimes hard to tell the sarcasm from the serious...I hope you're not saying that, after getting degrees plus years of education, often racking up tens of thousands in student loans, spending our own money on classroom supplies, and spending our "summers off" in seminars and planning nine months of lessons, that teachers, who prepare our children to be cops, firefighters, journalists, politicians, or any other occupation that requires reading, math or history, should not be paid a wage that approximates the cost of living?
I want the people to pay u's as babysitters. Ten dollars an hour for 8 hours. Multiply that by 750 kids and that's 60000 a day. Divide that amongst 60 adults on campus. Not bad.
Maybe police officers should keep the money from the tickets they write, firefighters should demand payment from home/business owners before putting out fires and teachers..well they get all summer off anyways.....
You know, there really is something creepy about the orange one.
It's not just the creepy fake shake n bake tan. Or the plastered-down Brylcreem 1970's hair. The man exudes the vibes of a snake oil salesman.
Being an idiotic, conserative member of the GOP: so easy a caveman could do it.
revealing more of who the Regressives really are, and why every Democrat must vote in November.
these guys are voting against the middle class after having ripped off Soc. Sec. to fund tax cuts for the very top rung of the ladder.
they daily find things they want to change about the Constitution, and what they are really angling for is calling a Constitutional Convention.
a Constitution re-written by people beholden to the special interests and corporate funding like the Regressives depend on would be a disaster for teachers, police, firefighters and everyone not in the top 1% of this country.
there must be no fall-off in Democratic turn-out for mid-terms this year; too much is at stake.
Boehner is not past saying that police, firemen and teachers are part of the socialist agenda. Then the brainwashed will acquiesce without thinking about it. I am beyond being shocked at anything these non-working and non-thinking people say.
Off the beaten path a bit, we had our 4th visit from the Census Squad today - three vehicles full of trainees, and loma2 was NOT amused! I came upon them as they were leaving with their tails between their legs! Hahahaha!!!!!!!!!
The only way statements like Boehner's can stand is if they appear in brief snippets in the minds of conservatives. You know - the ones who do not consider research to be part of each day on this planet. They just knee jerk to the emanations from their illustrious leaders and then don't consider the implications. They will all be marginalized before too long, because the most urgent problems are going to smack everyone in the face, and soon!
Honestly, who votes for these idiots.
"American workers, who will be hit by another job-killing tax hike because Washington Democrats can't kick their addiction to more government 'stimulus' spending"
The boogey man is still alive and lurking in the dark...and the sad thing is people take this at face value, and vote accordingly...
I wonder if a competency test should be required to be allowed to vote... "Does the sun revolve around earth?" and "Does Hawaii start with an A?" type questions...
