Mexican Drug Cartels Have Invaded Texas! What? Oh, Never Mind

The rabid right obviously learned nothing from the Shirley Sherrod story. That taking information from questionable (to be kind) sources and running with it without verification leaves a lot of egg on a lot of faces.

The latest evidence came yesterday when Dan Amato at Digger's Realm "broke" the story about members of a  Mexican drug cartel supposedly crossing the border and "taking over at least 2 ranches in the Laredo, Texas area." Accompanying the story was a scary looking photo of cartel members in custody. Unrelated to this alleged incident of course, but scary nonetheless.

Amato's original source was Jeff Schwilk, founder of the San Diego Minutemen. Confirmation was a story by Kimberly Dvorak at the Examiner. Here's all you need to know about Ms. Dvorak's credibility and reliability, from another right-wing blogger who ran with Amato's original story:

"I just spoke to Kimberly Dvorak who I know and has been a source on ACORN and other stories for Breitbart's sites."

Well surprise, surprise, none of it's true. Conservative blogger Confederate Yankee smelled something fishy and took the time to check with law enforcement in Laredo.

"I called the Laredo Police Department, and had a delightful chat with the acting watch commander, Sgt. Perez.

Sgt. Perez informed me that I was her seventh caller about this claim since she came on duty this afternoon. She stipulated two things that blows holes in the invasion claim.

   1. The location of the alleged invasion is outside of their city-limits jurisdiction, so they would not be involved, and;
   2. while they would not be involved in any law enforcement response outside of their jurisdiction, they work closely with the county sheriff's office and would know if such an event is occurring.

She also provided me the number of the Webb County Sheriff's Department. The deputy that answered the phone there was less amused, having also dealt with this rumor multiple times in a short amount of time. She also told me that there was no invasion and no law enforcement siege, and that deputies were continuing normal operations."

The Laredo Morning Times backed that up:

"...officials with the Laredo Police Department, Webb County Sheriff's Department and Border Patrol said they knew nothing about such an incident."

I can only imagine what might come next.Something preposterous like 'Big Mexican Women are helping AWOL Afghan soldiers get from Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio to Canada.' Nah, nobody would believe that.

Oh wait.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of livingmoncler vest. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long
as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.

More likely 'those' people will claim credit because they 'forced' Obama to do something he is adamantly opposed to...keeping this 'by Gawd' country safe from the enemy...pitchfork carrying women and babies AND their bloodthirsty gun-toting subhuman brown men.

Their hatred for the Left is strong, they will believe anything FOX and other Rightie groups tell them. Just a bunch of ignorant, closed minded people. Probably most educated in Texas schools.

Shoot first and ask questions later

If God didn't mean for us to carry guns we wouldn't have been born with trigger fingers.

the fox story belongs in the globe, right along with their recent cover story about obama's birth certificate.

here's the takeaway:
------------------------------------------------
"The Department of Defense, again, recommended contacting ICE.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection did not respond to requests for comment.

Interpol told FoxNews.com to “contact the authorities in the countries where you believe there may be an investigation ongoing.”
-------------------------------------------------
looks like the red phone at fox is not ringing lololololol!

No matter how stupid such rumors are, SOMETHING always sticks one way or another...so why not use such weapon while a Democrat is on Office?

They win either way or another:
- all that will believe it will accuse Obama of being weak on security
- if Omaba increases security to calm people, those will say he's inreasing the deficit!

There's sumpin' wrong with those people...

Well, I believe Republican leaders are Reptilian Illuminati that just want to eat us for lunch. Why? Cause I just really really really want to believe!

Rachel Maddow made a beautiful point when she stated that Republicans try to paint this philosophical battle as a zero sum game, that whenever their side loses an inch the other side gains a foot. There are elements of self-fulfilling prophecy, self-delusion, self-destruction, and genetic taint that create a reality that only they can see and believe in. And they must certainly believe that it is a zero sum game despite that that flies in the face of all that is reasonable.

It is how the Alpha Draconian reptiles would want it (since they were the ones that instilled the genetic perversity). 'Nuff said!

Welcome to Fantasy Land folks... Around here the right-wingers just make crap up as they go along. The sad thing is 18% of the country totally believes the mountains of bull these morons are shoveling.

be afraid, very afraid; the homeland must be protected from the evil things out there - the only solution will be to give up some more of those silly ' rights ' The Founders wrote down (SCOTUS only worried about originalism when it suits 'em) so that we can cower safely.

pass the ammo - think I saw somethin' move.

The annoying thing is that ignorant people believe this shit and then repost it numerous times via email.

Thank God for that delete button on my email. Delete delete delete.
