"PHOENIX -- A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the most controversial parts of Arizona's immigration law from taking effect, delivering a last-minute victory to opponents of the crackdown.
The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents - including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.
The judge also put on hold parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places."

Why, doing something that unscrupulous would be mean that the tax cuts that expire this year, written by republicans, passed by republicans, may have unscrupulously been written as a political ploy giving republicans political fodder about "raising taxes" during an election year!

The writers of the law KNEW that it would be struck down, or at least challenged by the administration. It's a clear violation of the supremacy of the federal government, and is akin to Texas passing a law that declares a trade embargo on China. Everyone knows that the federal government would be forced to challenge that law and would easily win in the courts. To me, this looks like good old fashioned political manuvering...setting up Obama for the endless cries of "Dems love illegals and hate america".
