Houston Tea Party Society, Katy Tea Party, North Houston Tea Party Patriots and the God Bless Arizona Tour rally to support the Orlando Tea Party Arizona Caravan

Organizers of local Tea Parties including Houston, Katy, and North Houston are joined by The God Bless Arizona Tour, headed by Michael Berry, and will host the Orlando Tea Party as it passes through Houston on its way to Arizona to support the state's SB1070 illegal immigration law.

Join these local groups and fellow Patriots Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the North Houston Tea Party Headquarters (26710, I-45 North, Oak Ridge North, TX 77386, Phone: 936-337-4780), just past Rooms To Go. The rally will start at 6 p.m. in the parking lot.

The Orlando group is on its way to Arizona to show support for Governor Brewer and SB 1070. While in Arizona they will infuse the local economy with a "buycott" and travel dollars.

If you are interested in making a caravan to Arizona to show your support come to the rally and visit with members of the God Bless Arizona Tour. This tour will be leaving Houston July 2nd and headed to Arizona to meet with the Governor and sight-see, march in the Grand Canyon parade and more, patronizing Arizonan businesses. The tour will return July 5th.

Sounds also like you are a victim of exaggeration and propaganda. The beheading story, turns out, is false. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/02/jan-brewers-beheaded-bodi_n_632185.html

The governor there is peddling falsehood and hate, trying to justify bigotry.

Sounds like you didn't go to learn anything, but just went to re-affirm your own conclusions. Interesting that you talk a lot about the symptoms, but not the disease. Illegal immigration is a terrible problem and Texas and Arizona are bearing the brunt. However, you are ignoring why we have this problem. We have this problem because businesses, who support Republicans, make more money by hiring undocumented workers. While Republican politicians scream about the problem, they don't do anything about it, because their contributors don't want reform. They fight reform, taking an "enforcement only" stance, which is proven NOT TO WORK as you got to see first hand.

We have to attack the actual PROBLEM, not hyperbolize and stereotype the people coming across the border. People come across the border for jobs. 30 years ago, workers could come over and then go back to be with their families. When the US tightened border control, they just came over, brought their families AND STAYED. That's the real problem. We need comprehensive reform, a reform that brings all of these people out of the shadows, documents them and makes them taxpayers. Part of that reform consists of border security, guest worker visas, and a humane immigration system.

Anyone advocating enforcement only, "send them all back", and other asinine positions really don't want the problem solved. They're just xenophobic.

I just got back from this tour. I think you are all using your own stereotypes for Texans and for tea party participants as you accuse us of doing. I will tell you I have an advanced degree from one of the top schools in the US which happens to be in California and I never wear big hair. Let me tell you what really happened.

First, we were going to get first hand knowledge of the impact of illegal immigration on the border states rather than listen to hearsay or political rhetoric. We were supposed to meet the Border Guards in Nogales to see what the issues were. Unfortunately, we could not go there since they told us they could not guarantee our safety. 21 people had been murdered just south of the border there the day before. They also found 2 heads on our side of the border the day before. In fact, the federal government just put up signs in the national parks in Arizona saying people should not go - it is too dangerous due to human and drug smugglers. I do not feel good about ceding part of the US to the violence.

Secondly, everywhere we went, Arizonans applauded us and followed us and told us the stories of what they were living with. 71% of Arizonans support this law, which, in fact, only says to enforce the current federal law! Phoenix ranks number 2 behind Mexico City IN THE WORLD in terms of kidnappings. Even Latinos came to thank us. One told us he came here legally because the US is a land of laws and his former homeland is not. And now, the US is not enforcing the laws.

Third, we were reminded that for most of the illegal aliens, not only was the fact that they are illegal mean they are not following the law, but also, most have illegal papers and that is a large source of identity theft.

Fourth, they are going out of their way to avoid racial profiling. They can only stop someone for the commission of some other illegal activity. And then, they can question their legal status only if there is suspicion such as, they cannot tell you their address, they do not speak English at all, they are found with other illegal immigrants, they admit it, etc.

This is impacting the Arizonans personally and they are dealing with the violence every day. They are dealing with the costs of jailing the aliens that have committed violent crimes throughout the state. They are dealing with the costs of educating the children and absorbing their hospital bills and the impact of unemployment because jobs have been taken by illegals. And, we are not talking about jobs like migrant workers. There are many jobs that Americans or legal immigrants would be happy to take.

Rather than you all spouting hate and ignorance and stereotyping, try going to the original sources like our Constitution or the people who are actually suffering under laws NOT being enforced or actual videos and learn about what is really happening in this country. Only then will I listed to your educated opinion.

Well, if they're going to go to Arizona, I fully support their mission, and will donate to them, if they promise not to come back.

"Life without reason is to exist as a vegetable"

Corollary: and if you must exist as a vegetable, at least be one people like to eat.

That would make most Teabagistanis beets...or rhubarb.

Thanks June,I forgot to asessorize...... Ohh Myyyy Gawwwd I would be the envy of them all.... me lookin all fly and chit with them there Texas shades and teabag earrings all dressed to kill sumpin, holding up my sign!

It is hard to fathom people who would actually support this type of behavior exhibit by the Tea Party.

Life without reason is to exist as a vegetable.

I love the smell of Lotrimin in the morning.

That's what I thought. I lost those chapters in the hurricane.

May the teaparty fools have scorpions invade their shorts.

Keith thinks it "sounds cool". Why am I not
surprised?

Let's change the state's name to Airheadzona. And send Perry and Palin there.

things got heated, things were said...it happens sometimes when you're dealing with intelligent, contentious people.

Everyone needs a break sometime(except me, i'm like jock-itch...I stick aroooouuuuuuuund)

Where in the bible is that quote from Wombat??

I believe it's only found in the NRA Standard Revised.

it's in the book of Armaments..chapter 9 verses 11-14

I was out this morning. You guys were a little tough on Scott, don;t you think??

I was gonna sign up, but you all know that I'm 1/16th Cherokee and 50% Coonass. Do they do DNA chromosomal analysis??? Now, I LOOK white as they next guy excpet when I spend a lot of time in the sun and I don't get tanned, I just get red. (Hence the nickname)

I've never been to Arizona. Guess that won't change this year.

Where in the bible is that quote from Wombat??

I talked to God this morning. She wants the TEA Party people to quit using her name like they know her.

Ever notice that TEA Partiers use the word "patriot" just like communists use "Comrade"? You're only a patriot if you agree 100% with their nuttiness. Any disagreement and you're a "socialist" which all in all isn't such a bad thing.

Going on that tour would literally be "Hell on Wheels" for me. But I have some fancy sunglasses with lens shaped like the State of Texas I'd be happy to give MylceBarbie; they'd look fetching with teabags dangling.

I LIKE it!!! LOL!

I have one I like:..:)

....Thank You Arizona for Bringing Back Arrested Davelopement, And Closing You're Boarders.

Now THAT was funny, but make sure that your sign is misspelled to fit in.

Sounds like an outing! I need to get my stretch pants and my ICE tank-top (to show off my tatas and my tats)and my flip-flops on; get out my good lawn chair; my Styrofoam beer cooler stocked and get me some poster board and scratch me out a sign.. I will be good to go represent!

Sounds pretty cool. God Bless Arizona!

I love Arizona. I always have - I have spent many wonderful weeks there and have some terrific memories, however, until this SB1070 is changed or repealed, I will never spend another dime there.

Period.

well, jesus DID say "Trusteth not people who art brown, for they be-eth different from thee....and verily bad"

i do love that they assume that god's on their side of the illegal immigration issue...
