The Eye of the Beholder

The boys and I spent yesterday at a waterpark in celebration of my youngest's 12th birthday. We were there for a number of hours so I had a chance to do some serious people-watching, one of my favorite things. We've been exposed to the Hollywood and media standards of beauty and so-called health -- rail thin, flawless skin and makeup, perfectly symmetrical and artificially perky C-cups (or larger), spray tans, liposuction-sculpted torsos, over-processed hair with lots...
Since the blowout of BP's Mississippi Canyon Block 252, I've had a lot of conversation in the oil and gas industry and picked up a lot of information from industry forums and blogs.  We've decided to open a thread here on The Daily Hurricane to serve as a central point for people who are familiar with the blowout and who have information they would like to share.  This forum is open to people in the...

Smarter people than I have really looked into what this bill represents, and here's what it comes...
I just finished reading all of BP's, Transocean's, and the unified command's latest public statements concerning the blowout and subsequent disastrous spill that is now coming ashore in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.  They go into long descriptions of number of boats, feet of boom, number of people, number of politicians, number of helicopters, etc, etc, all responding to the oil spill, but zero on the real problem, a deepwater oil well flowing uncontrolled at an...
