Hell Freezes Over...SAINTS WIN!!!

Saints win after a 43 year long drought.  It was a great game, battled until the last minute.

Good for New Orleans.

And, BTW, I didn't mean to say that basketball games ARE fixed. Only that it would be easy to do so if one were so inclined.

And that's the way it SHOULD be. Bribery and corrtuption should be open to ALL persons regardless of race, religion, nationality, or sexual preference.

Carguy, of course we're good. But, what I meant when I said that Vegas is an open city is that there was never a Las Vegas mob. It was decided by the national commission that Vegas would be an "open city", which meant that mobsters from all over the country were allowed to operate their and rob whomever they wanted, just as long as they didn't rob other mobsters.

At the height of the mob's power in Vegas, the crime families of the midwest(most notably Chicago) had the most influence in the town. But their was never a crime family that was from or controlled Vegas.

Bart your team LOST get over it! I thought it was a great game. I watched from half-time on, it was fun to watch the underdogs win!........Who Dat? Saints dat! YAY!

I know you're right. You mean "open" to "many" mobs now, the Russians, the Colombians, the Chinese, the Sicilians (former Mafia), the Arabs, (YES the Arabs have their own mob). Most, as you say, are NOT involved in gambling. Fixing an NFL game, pishposh. Too many variables.

It's BASKETBALL where the fix is in. 5 guys on each team. EASY as pie to throw a game, buy off an official, or delay the game by putting "Slime in the Ice Machine."

Huey, we good? :-)
That Bart just breaks me up sometimes.

Bart-1, your post is silly, to say the least.

EVERY call went the Saints way?? Which calls were these? There was only ONE play the entire game that was questionable and the referee on the field called in incorrectly in favor of the Colts. Reply clearly showed that the two point conversion worked and overturning it was the right call. The Colts only had about 3 penalties called on them the whole game, the Saints had 2. Doesn't exactly sound like shennanigans to me.

Also, the game wasn't decided when Reggie Wayne missed that pass on 4th and goal. That would have put the Colts down by 7 with less than a minute to play. So, in order to win, the Colts would have had to recover the onside kick AND go down and score a touchdown in less than a minute.

Oh, and Wayne didn't cut off his route when Porter got the INT, Porter actually jumped the route.

Carguy, for the record, there's no such thing as a "Las Vegas mob". Vegas is an open city. The majority of mobsters who once occupied the city were pushed out. The few who remain are in drugs/prostitution/construction. There are a few exceptions, but most of the gambling is controlled by the casinos, who are owned and operated by large corporations.

Who Dat !!! Been a Saints fan since the days of the Aints and the wearing of paper bags over the head. It took a while, but we finally did it. World Champions !!! Hope to see the Texans there in a few years.

First off, the first half was BORING. I slept through 80% of it. First half of MOST of the NFL games are about as exciting as watching paint dry.

The Who were great. Then the second half made it worth ALL the money I had spent on the game. 1 can of Chicken breast, two hard-boiled eggs and and a delicious chicken salad sandwich with Triscuits. About $3.87. Worth every penny. But I have "friends" in Las Vegas. My uncle's name isa Pietro Carabino. And I knew who was gonna win.
(see previous post)

My "former" best friend agrees with you Bart. He is ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that the NFL is fixed right down to the cheerleader choices and the decision on exactly WHO gets the cushy beer vendor "routes" at the stadium.

It's the Las Vegas mob. They cleaned up on this game. Also the Jets/Patriots among others. They own the referees and the guys that inflate the footballs on the sidelines. That's how they do it. I think Jim Nance works for them too.

It's all good,

I was pulling for the Saints. "Damn those Yankees" anyway.

Next year, Pittsburgh Steelers...fuhgedaboutit. It's gonna be the KC Chiefs. :O)

I had a blast watching the game last night, even if I couldn't drink any beer. We had Zydeco on all day and had a blast. It was fun cheering our neighbors on, if only for a day.

Next year, Steelers are gonna take the championship back. :)

Jeez, I was rooting for the Colts, but I managed to stay classy and say Congratulations to my Saints friends.
But then again....I'm not Bart. ;-)

Jeeze bart can you ever post without whining, even on a sports topic?

Sour Grapes, Bart-1?

Sometimes the team wins who keeps its nose to the grindstone, and out works the opponent. Not pretty, not exciting, just hard work that pays off in the end.

Both good teams, and who doesn't love Payton Manning? But the Saints won it fair and square.

WHO DAT ? Indeed.
