In the most unsurprising story of the year so far, quitter Sarah Palin has now decided to put on a broadcaster's costume and pretend to be a commentator who actually has something to contribute to Fox Noise. She debuted last night on Papa Bear O'Reilly's hatefest, and believe it or not, I actually held my nose and watched the interview. Talk about nauseating. It was quite a spectacle with the pompous interviewing the ignorant.
O'Reilly addressed her as "Governor" no less that 560 times in the 15 minute session where she struggled to answer even basic softball questions. O'Reilly pretended to be the tough interviewer, but answered most of his own questions before she responded to guide her to the "correct" response. While denying that Steve Schmidt's assertions that she believed that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11 were true, she did admit to "asking a lot of questions" about the "history of the war". Have a look:

Very good.
If only McCain had a Wayback machine and selected Sherman, he might have had a chance.
We always said that if she had resembled Susan Boyle, McCain would have passed right by.
She was sexy and he's a horny old goat. Figures.

Who was Boris Badenov's IMMEDIATE supervisor?
Fearless Leader!
Though I have my suspicions about that dominatrix Natsha...
wonder if she gets a bonus every time she trots out a kid...and if she manages to get pregnant again, who wants to bet Fox'll televise the birth
What if she looked like Janet Reno or Janet Napolitano? Hey..wait.. .I bet those two are the same woman!
She's so pretty.
You know, (and please don't think less of me for this gang) I kinda feel sorry for her too. And the kids, and her poor husband. But I'll get over it.

Hey, Wombat, want to see me pull a rabbit out of my hat?
Uh oh! Aaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh. Gotta get another hat.
Honestly, I fell sorry for her. Did you notice her body language when O'really ran the clips from MSNBC's commentators. She was a deeply shamed and "hurt" human being. O'really didn't bat an eyelash. He watched his compatriot ripped to shreds and the only change in his demeanor was the glint of saliva dripping from his fangs...RATINGS. I didn't think it was possible, but I was even more revolted than usual.
Wassamata U, in Frostbite Falls? I think you're right. She MAY be their most famouns alum.
Wassamatta U? Wombat, I think I love you!
That was priceless!
this is an eminently predictable move(doesn't she have a journalism degree from Wassamatta U.?) I think it's a good thing....now all those people subjected to fox news in every McDonalds and hotel lobby in america will get to see just what a self-righteous, close-minded, jingoistic, whiny, vainglorious(look it up) word-that-rhymes-with-stitch she is(i do feel for the poor emplyees of said establishments however.....)
Boy, lots of things happening on TV this week. First the "late night" disaster that has befallen NBC. Now, FOX hiring Sarah Palin. It should be entertaining as most of her answers bear a striking resemblance to Ted Baxter (Mary Tyler Moore Show)explaining the "Theory of Relativity".
Those that have "hitched their wagon to her star" are in for a "bumpy ride." LIfe is tough when you find yourself on Letterman's sh*t list.
Frum does a decent analysis of her debut.
It's probably a great strategic move for her that now she'll have a team writing her material, and the job insulates her from having to answer questions or even form policy positions, since due to her "commentator" status she can just snipe away. From the Fox side it's a cynical play for the hearts and minds of the teabagger base.
In the CBS interview, I think it was one of the authors of "Game Change" who said that the McCain campaign had assumed that Sarah Palin had the same level of knowledge about domestic and international issues as they would expect of any sitting governor. Probably a fair assumption - except it was one that was wildly wrong.
Turns out Sarah Palin knows next to nothing about any subject. Dumb as a stump. I mean, can you imagine that the campaign staff had to educate her about World War II? And she is determined to publicly demonstrate her ignorance over and over again with her exposure on Fox.
It's the arrogance of the stupid, Texas Sparkle but on a much bigger stage. O'Reilly let Palin blather on, but she was saying absolutely nothing. I am hoping, praying (to the extent I engage in such a thing) that Sarah Palin continues to be the public face of the GOP and the teabagger movement. She would pretty much guarantee another four years for Barack Obama.
Wouldn't one assume that a person hired to be an analyst (political or otherwise) would actually have the intellectual capability to....oh, I don't know.....ANALYZE something?
Thanks a lot, John McCain, for being distracted by wee willie winkie and letting this idiot loose on the nation. God'll getcha for that. You betcha!
She will be noting more than a news reader doing what she does best, read. As far as serious analysis of the political questions of the day, she will diligently read exactly what they put in forn of her. Probably written by the same hacks that turn out the rest of the prose on Fox. The bad side is that the wingnuts of the right will quote her chapter and verse while extolling her savvy and intelligence. Net result; nothing more nor less than what we see now from Fox.
I caught a snippet of her interview this morning. Unsurprisingly, O'Reilly was blathering the same crap that so many of the numbskulls over at the Chron do, that those who say disparaging things about her are actually terrified of her. Must have said it ten times in a 30 second clip. Where do these people come up with these notions ? I'll admit, she, and her fervent supporters are the epitome of the dumbing down of America, and it disgusts me, but scared ? Get real.
Freeportguy just nailed it! And the dimwits will just love her...
This will be perfect for her: the ability to drop her 2 cents, enough to stir the pot, and not getting challenged to further elaborate, justify or prove. In other words, a seagull dropping!
