Where is the Outrage Over DeMint's Trip to Honduras?

A trip down Hypocrisy Lane.

Remember Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Damascus in April of 2007 to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad?  President Bush called it "counterproductive" and Sen. Joe Lieberman said it was "bad for America." The right-wing blogosphere was throwing a tantrum. Hot Air called it "undermining our foreign policy." Sister Toldjah asked, "Can we question their patriotism now?" The headline at WorldNetDaily was "Terrorists Go Ga-Ga Over Pelosi's Trip." Jammie Wearing Fool called it "Treason" and an "absolute disgrace."

David Limbaugh ranted:

"I realize Democratic leaders and those they answer to have unmitigated contempt for President Bush. I realize they believe the public rewarded their hatred and their antiwar posturing in the November congressional elections.

...President Bush strongly urged Pelosi not to go. But in keeping with her flagrant disrespect for President Bush and, manifestly, for the presidency itself, she openly defied him and went anyway.

Her action is indefensible. She was not legally representing the United States, since the president refused to authorize her mission."

Fast forward to yesterday:

"Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) has announced that he is heading down to Honduras to encourage those who helped fund and supported the coup against Honduran President Manuel Zelaya to resist American pressure to return Zelaya to office.

In other words, Jim DeMint is acting on behalf of, in cahoots with, and against the foreign policy of the United States of America in encouraging post-coup Honduran government officials defy the United States. He is encouraging a political leadership which has no legitimacy and which is not recognized by other democracies in the region.
"

The reaction to DeMint's trip from the same voices on the right?

Surprised?

This is assuming that there is a difference between the left and the right. Every day that passes it becomes clear that whether we are ruled with the left hand or the right, it doesn't matter.

We have a serious problem and its getting to be the Dem Congress Critters as well as the Repubs. We have nuts on both sides of the aisle who don't understand they are there do do the citizens business not to just dance to their own agenda. Thats why the few who do speak out stand out so brightly. i.e. Jim Grayson et al.

BTW, its nice to see Deward posting here. Welcome back, Guy.

They (Democratic officials) did what they could, through the State Department, but McConnell went to, and through, the DOJ.

The Republicans are relentless, in their efforts to bring down this presidency.

It's time the Democrats realized that, and started fighting fire, with fire.

Apparently the only Democrat who recognizes that, knows how to do it, is Congressman Grayson, from Florida.

des thanks for this reminder. btw, my computer messed up and my reply somehow appeared twice, once in mutated form. lol perhaps because the glenbeck 912 moms read my protest email and relented. i am now a proud, car-carrying patriot mom. time to see how the other half lives, can't overcome something from the outside in, the only way is from the inside out. i'm sure you look forward to my correspondent updates, if not perhaps the daily show would:)

jefe is that a rhetorical question? the democrats are either busy taking insurance money or as the media says "facing a tough re-election campagin". next rhetorical question, "who are these mom's for glen beck"? answer, i seem to not be worthy. just learned of his snake mom's group, went to the website "http://asamom.ning.com/" and tried to sign up, using my real name! i failed the question, "can you agree with at least 7 of the 9 principals of 912?" because i said no. but approval was "pending" and i got my hopes up. sadly, i received a tragicmagic reject notice. all around crappy day lol.

What is worse is this inane glee that Chicago lost the Olympic games.

I tell you it is sick.

So far I've seen one. John Kerry tried to block DeMint from getting government aircraft, but McConnell pulled some strings with the DOD and got it approved. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/01/AR2009100105015.html

Boy, no lie. I knew they weren't going to say anything, but where are the Democrats screaming about the trip. Crickets is right.
