I'll talk more about these movies tomorrow.

My favorite Santa?  You never heard of him.  He is Jan Rubes, a Czechoslovakian who immigrated to Canada after World War II and a character actor his entire career.  He played Santa in "One Magic Christmas", a Disney movie produced in 1985.

He was  amazing in the role helping Gabriel, a cowboy-turned-angel, save Christmas for a family about to be evicted.  It starred Mary Steenburgen.  A real sleeper of a movie that I highly recommend.  It's on iTunes.

Still don't recognize him?  OK, here's one you will remember.  He played the Amish patriarch of the family that gave shelter to Harrison Ford in "Witness" produced the same year.
